Griha Pravesh Puja Mantra

Hindu rituals are not very simple, requires elaborate preparation and knowledge about the Vedas. However, under certain circumstances it becomes really hard to get hold of a Brahmin who is well versed in the knowledge of the Vedic scriptures. Under such circumstances you can perform the puja all by yourself. Remember each mantra has a special significance and should be uttered only at the appointed place in a prescribed manner.

Lord Ganesh is usually regarded as the residing deity in Griha Pravesh Puja. Offer flowers, rice and grains to Lord Ganesha and say

“Om Ganesaya Namah Avahayami”

Then as you apply chandan paste on the idol and offer flowers chant

“Om Ganesaya Namah Gandham Samarpayami

Om Ganesaya Namah Puspam Samarpayami”

Show lamp and agarbatti to Lord Ganesha and chant

“Om Ganesaya Namah Dipam Darsayami”

While offering food to Ganesha chant

“Om Ganesaya Namahamrta-Maha-Naivedyam Ivedayami

Om Ganesaya Namah Sarvopacaram Samarpayami”

Once you are done offering flowers and food to Lord Ganesh then chant these names

Om Sumukhaya Namah

Om Ekadantaya Namah

Om Kapilaya Namah

Om Gajakarnakaya Namah

Om Lamboraraya Namah

Om Vikataya Namah

Om Vighnarajaya Namah
