Vastu for Meditation

For many of us a meditation room may be a luxury space but actually it is a quiet corner of the space that you live in and it one can manage to have that space even in a small part of a small apartment. You actually can consider this space as a way of switching off through all the stresses of life and get to relax your mind and the body. But you will need a lot of patience and practice to help with the same practice. The space you will be meditating must be built to be comfortable and serene.

• For meditating you will need a quite room which is free from any type of distraction and the space must be as empty as possible.

• You need to have a comfortable room that can maintain a level of privacy and which is free from any type of major household activities.

• Kitchen or the living room cannot be thought of being a meditating room. The best would be to choose a less used balcony or an attic.

• The preference of light varies from person to person. While some will prefer a dark room for the same, some will find a dark room too sleepy.

• Some people will prefer a lot of fresh or and the natural light and they find these ingredients important for meditating.

• One must prefer a plain room, painted with muted color and that must be decorated with some subdue color.

• It is very important to have a window in a meditating room.

• The space where you are going to meditate should be free from any type of clutter and while meditating mobile phones must be kept away.

• It’s wonderful to have lakes, oceans and gardens around the meditating space.

• You will also feel better if you can have table top fountains, candles, indoor plants, incense, natural sounds, holy books, mementos and other pictures of friends and family can help to a great extent in making one feel better and relaxed.

• You should choose only a comfortable chair which has a straight back, a floor mat or a bench as per your choice. You can also include your cushion or pillow if you think that you are uncomfortable without them.

• You will also need to have a comfortable rug or carpet or a special type of Yoga mat.

• You will also need a music system or a CD player.

• Create only folding or sliding screens for creating a temporary apartment.
