The foundation of Vastu Shastra lies in the Yogshastra. Every Vastu according to VastuShstra is considered as a living entity and the essence of this connection lies in the fact that "Breathe" that is of the essential elements of Yogasahtra has a deep connection with the concept of the flow of the positive energy that is the basic principle of Vastu Shatra.

One can easily relate each and every principle of Yoga to the principle of Vastu. Somewhere both of these principles are two sides of the same coin. The basic elements of Vastu called as Panch-Maha-Bhutas are also studied in the Yogashatra. In the science of vastu the affects of these five elements- water, fire, space, wind and Earth are combined to understand the effect of the various directions that are related to building a home/office or any other physical establishment.

Any type of Vastu flaws or doshas can be treated with the help of various aspects of yogic practices including Ida' or 'Chandra Nadi' and 'Pingala' or 'Surya Nadi'. In Vastu Shastra these aspects are related to two stream theory called as Jaivik Urja and Pranik Urja.

This stream is responsible for bringing in strength, peace, prosperity, stability and it acts as a catalyst to the flow of life.

This stream is related to misfortune, pain, hardship, sorrow and is believed to be lethal for the growth of the flow of life.

1. The most suitable place in your home for doing yoga or mediation are the Northeast and the central parts of the home

According to Vastu the Northeastern part of the home is usually considered very pious. From the five elements of vastu, water is related to this corner of the home and therefore putting an element relating to water can enhance the energy of this portion of the space. The central part of the building is associated with the element space.

If you are not able to find any of these portions for practicing yoga then you can choose any of the corners of the home and start considering it as the most sacred spaces of your home will do. But, it is great to have one special room for practicing Yoga or meditation that can bring in a great transformation in the level of energy in the home

2. Always remove your shoes before entering the Yoga area
