Five Elements of Vastu

The human body is made from five elements, Earth, water, fire, space and air. The fact has been established in various Hindu scriptures. These five elements of the body are called as "Paanch mahabhoottatvas" and each of these plays a significant role in keeping us going

• Earth: It provides smell and shape to our physical body.
• Space: It is responsible for producing sound in the boy.
• Fire: It stands for the presence of desire, hunger and heat.
• Water: works as a support for the presence of blood and other fluids.
• Air: It works to provide the feel of touch in the body.

In addition to playing important role in our body these five elements are also responsible for providing the touch of Vastu to our house or offices.

In simple words the human body is the space in which our soul actually resides and so for a healthy and wealthy living it is essential to keep all these five elements of the body in unison. And, that needs to be done not only inside but outside (in case of the physical structure of the place where we reside). In order to create a positive and healthy surrounding in our home we need to take care of all these five elements of vastu while building the structure. Here's how all these five elements are important and they can be dealt with for a healthy and sound living in a positive environment.

1. Earth

The gravitational and the magnetic field of the Earth have its effect on everything including the non-living ones. The shapes and the orientations that you choose actually affect the amount of positivity in your home. This one is the element that has the greatest energy present! In the science of Vastu everything should be done with care from purchasing the land to looking out about the quality of soil. You need to be careful about handling this important element of the nature and ensure if it's in accordance with the Vastu.

Here, it is important that you consider seriously, the element of Vastu in the selection of the plot. And, before you start with the construction, you must not forget to do close inspection of the site, soil, and shape and size of the plot you have chosen. This element of Vastu, "Earth", is the most important one and it actually influences our everyday lives.

Air:

Vayu as is called in Hindi, this element is considered to be the blood and soul of the living on the Earth. It provides us support to the human existence! Air consists of various gases including helium, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon-dioxide and others. All these gases are important for the human existence on the Earth. And, we would definitely need a balanced amount of all these gases, humidity and atmospheric pressure for a healthy living. According to the Vastu there are important directions of windows and doors that you must not forget implement in your home.

Water:

Also called as Jal in Hindi! Water on the Earth is present in various forms like Sea, Ocean, River and Rain. Vastu helps in providing suitable direction to the sources of water in your home. This element is the part of the North-East. The water from the domestic use should only be drained in the direction of North-East. And, this direction is auspicious for building the water bodies like swimming pool.

Fire:

Also called as Agni in Hindi, this element is also an important part of the Vastu. This belongs to the South-East direction. While constructing house, the fire of kitchen and other electrical gadgets must be placed such that they face South-East direction. Sun give us light which is an important part of our existence. The house should be built such that, there is proper intake of water inside the house.

Space:

We have the privilege to witness the never ending Sky and spec which is inclusive of various galaxies, constellations, Star, Moon, Sun and also the nine planets. This eternal space is also referred to as "Brahmand", where the God resides. Space is very important according to Vastu! Your home should be open to the outer space that is the sky and there should not be any disturbance. Any hindrance can result can create negative aura all around.
